This Palette is designed to apply a raised surface texture to flat colour layers with a view to simulating a traditional ‘analogue’ ink print.
The steps performed in the ‘SP Surface Print’ Palette
The Palette moves through a series of layer duplication, selecting snap, gamma, texture application and nudging, producing a texture which appears to be raised with a shadowing effect.
How to use the ‘SP Surface Print’ Palette
- Select and make active the layer you wish to affect.
- Click the ‘SP Surface Print’ palette to apply the effect.
How to edit the Palette to apply a different texture
- Hold ⌥ (option key) and click on the Palette to enter the editing window.
- Locate the second ‘Filter’ entry and click its edit icon to reveal the pattern filter which is being applied.
- To set a new pattern it must be located in your AVA Patterns library to be compatible and added to the Palette. Please ensure you have the pattern required added to the AVA Pattern library before proceeding to step 4.
- Select the required pattern in the AVA Pattern library
- Drag the Pattern window Palette handler and drop on top of the current pattern set in the Filter edit window. The cameo of the pattern will update with the new one.
