Colour matching designs between AVA and Photoshop™

Managing colour between different applications

All the layer styles applied in Photoshop™ such as an overlay of any kind, will disappear once you open the .PSD file in AVA. To prevent that from happening simply follow the steps below.

  1. Open your design and go to Separate Menu > Combine to Image, and choose 24 bit from the list of options which appear.  When you do this the substrate colour is incapsulated in the combined image as well as your Viewing Conditions in the AVA CMS Controller.
  2. Activate this new image layer, and go to Layer Menu > Save Selected Layers and save as a TIFF.
  3. In Photoshop™, go to Edit Menu > Colour Settings (this could be in a different menu depending on the version of Photoshop™ you are using).
  4. Under ‘Working Spaces’ set the RGB popup to ‘Monitor RGB - Display’. This is a non-colour managed setting in Photoshop™.
Delete

Note: We cannot guarantee how this will print in some workflows.
