Easily move a set of selected layers to the top or bottom of the list in the Layers Palette. This is advantageous for users who need to group their layers as you can move multiple layers into a new position all at once.
Move selected layers
- Activate the layers you want to move by clicking on the pencil icons beside them. If you need to activate layers which are not beside each other, hold down ⇧ (shift key) as you click on the pencils.
- Go to Layer Menu > Move.
- Select To Top or To Bottom from the side menu.
The activated layers will be moved to the new location within the Layers Palette. Any inactive layers will remain in their original location.
Sorting layers in the Layers Palette
Sorting layers in accordance to Hue, Saturation or Luminance is quick and easy. This is a great tool for arranging your layers either prior to, or after, doing a colour separation.
- Activate the layers you wish to sort.
- Go to Layer Menu > Move > Sort…
- Select either Hue, Saturation or Luminance from the pop up menu.
The selected layers will now be sorted accordingly. Any inactive layers will remain in their original location.
