Hide and Show Floating Windows

All floating windows (such as Info Window, Layers Palette, Tools Palette) can be hidden and conversely shown using one convenient command. This makes hiding unwanted floating windows quick and easy.

When floating windows are hidden, their menu options in the Window Menu are grey and cannot be selected. You will need to select Window Menu > Show Floating Windows, or click on the tool bar button, before you can open or close them again.

Suspending AVA hides floating windows

All floating windows are automatically hidden when the AVA application is suspended i.e. when you click into another application while AVA is running.

This is to avoid any confusion arising from one application’s floating windows being visible when another application is in the foreground. The floating windows will re-appear when AVA is re-activated.

Some instances may require the Layers Palette to be visible while not working in AVA, such as being able to copy colour chips to your layers from another place. In this situation, if you click into ColourSys straight after leaving AVA, the Layers Palette will not hide and will still be accessible.
