Status Window: Display a series of warning icons

View whether you have a selection, hidden selection, a feather set or a dot gain in your file

The Status Window displays a series of warning icons, depending on the status of the selections within a design. This is very useful as it indicates whether an area is selected or not when it is hidden.

From the Window Menu select Status, or use the keyboard shortcut ⌘⇧S to open it.

  • The first button is added when a selection is active. Clicking on it will deselect the area:

  • The second button is added when a selection is hidden. Clicking on it will show the selected area:

  • The third button is added when a feather is set in the Feather Window. Clicking on it will open the window and set the feather amount back to zero:

  • The fourth button is added when a dot gain is set. Clicking on it will open the Dot Gain window so that it can be changed or removed:

If no icons are visible in the Status Window there are no selected areas within the design and no feathers or dot gains are set.

Tip: Leave the Status Window open so you can see the status of the warning icons at any time.
