Automating CMYK separations

Combine CMYK separations with more complex separation methods

CMYK separations can be automated using our Palette Technology, which means these customised separations can be used as part of a more sophisticated, automated separation method.

  1. Open an existing Palette, or create a new one by going to File Menu > New > Palette.
  2. Open the CMYK Table Maker, select the CMYK Table you want from the list on the left hand side, then drag the handler to the Palette.
  3. If this is the first item you have dragged to this Palette, it will now look like this:
  4. Hold down ⌥ (option key)  and click on the title of the button to reveal its contents.
  5. Click the spanner icon on the right hand side to open the Editor.
  6. Enter your required settings in to the Editor and save the Palette.
Delete

Note: CMYK separations can be part of a more complex separation Palette Button, and if you require any help in creating one, please contact AVA Technical Support, who will be very happy to help you.
