Offset: Creating parallel offset vectors

Create contoured vector objects

Offset is used to create contoured vector objects which are parallel to other active objects. The new shape can either be created inside or outside of the existing shape.

  1. Make a vector layer visible and active in the Layers Palette and activate one or more vector objects on it.
  2. Go to Vector Menu > Offset and enter the Offset distance needed.

  3. Click OK. A contour vector will be created parallel to and at the specified distance from the selected shape.

Note: To change the side of the offset (inside or outside), enter a negative value or change in the Offset… setting window. The offset vector will be placed inside the existing vector shape.
