We are always trying to increase security within the Productivity Manager application, which is why it is imperative that you install any updates we release.
Security certificate system
Productivity Managers’ security certificate system provides users of the module with AVA specific information, when viewed in Keychain Access. This update has the additional benefit of ensuring that Productivity Manager will not be displayed as ‘insecure’ in either Safari or Google Chrome on that particular work station.
Username and password authentification
Upon initial installation of the latest version of Productivity Manager, AVA users will be required to provide their Mac® account username and password as an additional layer of security, before any access to the database is granted.
URL definition in the Productivity Manager info pane
In the Productivity Manager Info window, you can define the URL for the server which will interact with the window. This feature also provides security certificates for browser interactions. Upon setting the correct URL, Productivity Manager will require a reboot, and as an additional security measure, the Mac® account username and password will be required upon reopening.
Web Set Up
You can choose how AVA applications communicates with Productivity Manager, giving you the control over the security level you wish to implement.
- Go to Settings > Web Set Up.
- Select HTTPS for the secure version of Hypertext Transfer Protocol for communication across the internet.
If you choose to use a dynamic IP address for your server, you also have the option to set at which level you would like your security.
These options allow you to decide how you would like other AVA applications to communicate with Productivity Manager.
