Once you have created a tile layout, it is useful to be able to create a grout to give your design the realistic effect
- Open your existing tile layout file.
For information on how to create a tile layout please click here
- Go to Window Menu > Selections Palette and click Offset Repeat
- Go to Window Menu > History > Show History and lock the current history step.
- Activate all layers and go to Window Menu > Gripping
- Configure the gripping options to over grip by 0.2mm in Rectangular mode and click Grip.
The result should look like the image below: - With all layers activated in the Layer Palette, go to Edit Menu > Select > Overlaps. This will select the gripped area.
- With the selection active add a new 1 bit layer and fill.
- Save this layer in the Selections Palette by dragging it directly from the Layer Palette into Selections.
Double click the layer to re-name. - Go to Window Menu > History > Show History and revert to the previously locked history step, this will remove the layer you just added, but the information is saved in the Selections Palette.
- Drag the layer from the Selections Palette into the Layers Palette. This will re-add the grout layer, with the original layers butt-fitting underneath
