Changing the transparency of Partial Images

The transfer modes work in conjunction with the transparency set for the embedded layers. Changing the transparency of these layers enhances the blending effects achieved with the transfer modes. The strength and impact of each transfer mode is determined to a large degree by the transparency set for the embedded layer.

  1. Activate the relevant embedded layer.

  2. Click on the T button in the Layers window and enter a new transparency. Try different transparencies until you get the desired effect.

The embedded layers in the image above are set to two different transparencies. The first partial image is set to 0% transparency so the standard image (destination layer) is not visible through it at all. The second partial image is set to 50% transparency, so much more of the standard image can be seen through it and only 50% of the partial image can be seen on top.
