Reversing an active selection


Selections are a fundamental part of the AVA software. They are required to complete certain functions in the software but they are also extremely useful in helping you achieve exciting design effects. It is important to master using selections in your working methods to make your work flows more effective.


Inverse selects the opposite of the active selection. For example, if a motif is selected, it will select everything but that motif. Only the selection is inverted, the actual design remains the same. This function is available for use on active selections in the Design Window and active object selections in the Layout Window.

If you are working with the Selections Palette open, you can invert selections directly from the palette:
