AVA offers a range of shape tools which are used to create a variety of different filled and outline shapes. They are split into two sections, the first set create solid, filled shapes and the second set, accessed through clicking and holding down on the respective tool, create outline shapes.
The Filled Arc Tool
This tool draws solid curved shapes with two straight edges. Click on the Filled Arc Tool in the Tools Palette. Drag an arc shape in your design. The angle and curve of the arc will be determined by the width and height of the area you cover as you drag. Hold down ⇧ (shift key) if you wish to make both straight edges the same length and create an evenly curved arc.
When this tool is selected a settings window opens, giving you the option to ‘Drag objects from centre’. With this option ticked, your shapes will be drawn from their centre point as opposed to the top left hand corner.
The Outlined Arc Tool
This tool draws outlines of arcs. Click on the Outline Arc Tool in the Tools Palette. Click down on the design and drag an arc shape. The angle and curve of the arc will be determined by the width and height of the area you cover as you drag. Hold down ⇧ (shift key) as you drag if you wish the angle of the arc to be even and regular along its complete length.
When this tool is selected a settings window opens, giving you the option to ‘Drag objects from centre’. With this option ticked, your shapes will be drawn from their centre point as opposed to the top left hand corner.
