Changing the view scale of the Layout Window

Adjusting the View Scale of the Layout Window

The scale at which the Layout Window is viewed at can be altered. This is useful when printing large designs, or when the document layout needs to be checked before it is printed, because you can view the whole page within the window at a reduced or enlarged scale. In AVA, users are able to view Layout Windows at a minimum 3 % zoom level.

Zooming into the Layout Window

Click on the Magnify Tool in the Tools Palette and then click once anywhere on the page. The cursor will display the + zoom icon, informing you that you will zoom in when you click. Go to Layout Menu > Zoom Bigger.

Select one of the predetermined zoom levels from the Scale field in the toolbar or enter your own zoom level.

Make sure no colourways are active, then select the Origin Tool in the Tools Palette and use the zoom short cut keys ⌘ + spacebar and click on the page.

Delete

Note: If any colourways are active when using the zoom short cut keys, zooming with the cursor over the colourway will zoom the design rather than the page. To avoid this, either position your cursor away from the colourways, or deselect the colourways before zooming.

Zooming out of the Layout Window

Click on the Magnify Tool in the Tools Palette, hold down the ⌥ (option key) on the keyboard and click once anywhere on the page. The cursor will display the - zoom icon, informing you that you will zoom out when you click.

Go to Layout Menu > Zoom Smaller.

Select one of the predetermined zoom levels from the Scale field in the toolbar or enter your own zoom level.

Make sure no colourways are highlighted, select the Origin Tool in the Tools Palette and use the zoom short cut keys (⌘⌥ + spacebar) and click on the page.

Delete

Note: Changing the viewing scale of the page will not change the size of the final print.

Fit to view

If you wish to zoom the page to fit the size of the window, go to View Menu > Fit to View, or use the shortcut ⌘0 (zero).
