These Settings provide you with a certain degree of control when printing digitally from AVA. From adding an overlap to your prints to preventing specific layers from printing at all.
When printing large designs which cover several sheets of standard sized paper, it is hard to accurately match up the design at the joins.
- Overlap Printing - provides a repeated section of the design of a specified amount at each joining edge, which forms an overlap, making it easy to join two or more prints together. Set the overlap field to the size of overlap required. All prints sent from the Design Window and Layout Window will then contain this specified overlap.
- Generate previews - draws thumbnails which can be seen in a print queue in the Digital Print Rip
- Averaging - assign averaging to images when printed
- Overprinted Image (using the AVA CMS Controller Printer Profile) - uses AVA’s default colour matching and proofs colours through your printer’s profile. If this is switched off, AVA assumes you wish to spot print every layer in your file
- Omit Spot Printing Layers from Overprinted image while printing - automatically hides the spot printed layers upon printing
- Spot Printing Layers - switches Spot Printing on. If this is not switched on, Spot Printing will not work.
- Into Overprinted image - merges the spot layer data into the composite CMYK image. This setting is only used for users who spot print via a third party rip such as Wasatch, InEdit or EFI.
- Custom Printer Gamut Warning Profile - assign a different profile to that in the AVA CMS Controller for your Gamut Warnings by dragging it here. This can be extremely useful if your customer uses a different profile to you. Simply drop your customer’s profile in here, and instantly see colours which will not print successfully on their printer.
- 16 bit per channel - select this if your printer driver supports 16 bit printing. 16 bit channels have more information in them than the usual 8 bit channels.
- Show Batch Print Settings - linked to File Menu > Batch Print. If you do not want the additional dialogue for this function to show each time you select it, untick this option.
- Omit Layers With Name - choose to omit layers for printing. Ideal for those who use pad layers to simulate coloured substrates. Simply type the name of the layer(s) into the box separated by commas (no spaces), and tick the check box. Layers with the same name in the Layer Palette will now be ignored for future prints.
-
Append Time Stamp to Print Name- allows you the option of setting the addition of a Date and Time Stamp to print names by default using a drop down box.
- No - will not append a date and time to the print names
- Yes - will append a date and time to print names using a modern format
- Yes, Legacy - will append using the same file format employed by the drivers to apply the files. This does not include the date.
