Ideal for splicing your wall murals and large prints into segments for printing. This feature crops your design into your chosen width, and if necessary height, and applies that essential bleed which aids hanging onto any wall.
- Open your mural into AVA.
- Go to Edit Menu > Crop > Repeat Crop. The following settings window will open:
- In the Width dialog box, enter the width dimensions you want each new segment to be. If you are printing onto a roll, this may be the width of the substrate, but you must consider the size of the bleed which you may add to each segment. In the Height dialog box, enter the height dimensions you want to splice your design into. Alternatively, tick ‘Document Height’ to keep the height of the file the same as the original file. If you are printing onto a roll, this is probably the best option.
- If necessary, enter an X Bleed, which is the amount of bleed/overlap you would like to apply to the edges of each segment.
- If necessary, enter a Y Bleed, which is the amount of bleed/overlap you would like to apply to the top and bottom of each segment
- Based on the dimensions you enter, this window will tell you how many new documents will be created.
- Quickly switch any bleeds on and off by ticking or unticking ‘Include Bleeds on Document Edges’
Tick ‘Include Crop Boxes on New Documents’ to include a crop box in each cropped segment.
Your design will be cropped into the specified number of documents, which can now be printed in your usual way.
If you are printing onto a roll, you may want to use the Layout Window to tile these new documents on the page. If the width of your substrate is the width of each document, tile them down the page to print them efficiently.
If you do not use the Layout Window, you can send each document to print individually.
