The Cloud
app.printfactory.cloud
Print Factory is a cloud based workflow, everything goes through and is registered in the cloud. Logging into your Print Factory account at app.printfactory.cloud will give access to your registered user based account.
Logs lots of information regarding printers in use, ink usage, jobs printed, profiles, etc. The cloud also makes backups of all PMM calibrations and profiles, making re-installation and set up of a new PF station hardware very simple.
There is also access here to a compatible printer list for PrintFactory which allows you to double check if a model is compatible (Mac® / PC or both).
Software Manager
Software Manager is the main centre for licence, connectivity and software updates. Information such as your licence number, the IP address of the main licence server and what printers are available under your licence can all be found here. There is also a section which lists your icc profiles, label templates, print mark options which can be downloaded. Users can also choose to swap printer licences of equivalent value, for example, when they purchase a new model in replacement for an out of service one.

The RIP
The RIP application receives, rips and processes jobs to the specified printer. Job info such as Printer, PMM and Variant is specified in either the Layout App or via AVA PF driver, not in the RIP.
The overall layout of the RIP (information windows etc) can be customised via preferences. Various suite apps such as Layout and Calibrator can also be launched here too.
Layout
The Layout app (not to be confused with AVA Layout) is a complete layout application for specifying everything from Printer, PMM and Variant to printer marks such as fotoba lines and crop lines. Labels can also be added here to jobs at the top, bottom or side, essentially like headers and footers. Labels also include QA certification features such a ISO stds and even an AVA specific one (which requires specific info in the print job file).
Material width can also be specified here too (although the correct width should pick up from the printer in the RIP). There is also a step and repeat function for specifying full production runs from a single repeat file.
To add a 3rd party job such as a tiff or PSD file, simply click the large plus button in the top left and choose the file. It will appear on the media layout preview. The selected file can then be aligned, marks or labels added and the print parameters (PMM, variant etc) changed at the top of the window. Once everything is ready, you can change the name of the job if you wish then click Submit (top right). The job is then added into the Print Queue on the RIP.
AVA directly generated jobs can also be adjusted here. Simply right click the job in the RIP list and choose 'Layout'.
Multiple jobs can also be added into Layout for accurate nesting and media use, however, only 3rd party files at this time. Nesting of AVA jobs to maximise media used should be done via AVA layout.
Calibrator
The Calibrator app is the hub for creation of all PMM calibrations for all printers on the licence and network. The calibration process is intuitively built as a step by step wizard making training very simple for all involved. The app is laid out with columns for media and mode which can be filtered by selecting the specific printer from the pop up (top left). Within each mode will be the list of Variants for the mode.
